Talk: Dream It! Plan It! Live It!

bucketWe began doing "life planning" retreats in the late 1990's - well before the movie "Bucket List" came out. But, we really resonated with the movie and regularly add and complete adventures on our list. Using our six-month Appalachian Trail completion as a foundation for our talk, “Dream It!...Plan It!...Live it!” challenges everyone to pursue their dreams; no matter what their age or however incredible the dream may seem. This presentation is suitable for luncheon or dinner talks and provides an overview about the Appalachian Trial, but also provides insight on identifying dreams, rekindling passions, steps to take in “life planning” and helpful hints on fulfilling life dreams. This is our favorite presentation as we both enjoy helping other people live out their life dreams. In fact, you can download a helpful "life planning worksheet" to get started on creating your own list - consider every area of your life and DREAM!

Other adventures that have been on our life list have included:

  • An 8-day raft trip down the Grand Canyon from Lee's Ferry to Lake Mead
  • Flying in a helicopter in Hawaii
  • Alaska adventures: cruise, train trip, RVing on Kenai Peninsula
  • Driving at a NASCAR speedway (Randy)
  • Hiking in the Black Forest (and having some authentic Black Forest Cake!)
  • Completing Vermont's Long Trail

What's still on the list? Come hear one of our upcoming presentations and ask! You can look for them on our Calendar and Contact us for more details.

“Randy Motz and Georgia Harris recently spoke at our weekly Rotary Club meeting.  They are a dynamic duo who captured the attention of the audience and held it until the end of the presentation.  It was an inspiring talk, giving each of us the impression that we could plan, and live out, the adventure they shared together.  This was one of the best programs we have had all year.”  Arnold Lerman

Life Planning Worksheet - make a list of your dreams! Don't censor yourself and be creative. Think about what you'd like to have completed at the end of your life. Don't live with regrets. After writing down your dreams, plan them, schedule them, and tell everyone you know!

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain
